Folkmanis Puppets
Founded in 1960 by Judy Folkmanis in Watertown, MA. Judy started making puppets for her son's nursery school while her husband was earning his
Ph.D. at Brandeis. In the late 1960's the Folkmanis's moved to California where Judy began to sell her puppets on Berkeley's Telegraph Ave.
In 1976, Judy's husband Atis, decided he would help with her business and abandon his career as a biochemist.
Currently, Folkmanis, Inc is located in Emeryville, CA and has become the premier manufacturer of plush puppets worldwide. Folkmanis offers over
200 puppets all with a realistic design.
Folkmanis, Inc. is a family owned business currently run by Judy & Atis's son Dan and will continue to be for future years to come. Judy and
Atis oversee the creative and operations side to make sure that the quality, love and natural looks that they had conveyed through their
puppets is still followed today.
Folkmanis, Inc. sells in specialty stores and retailers nationwide as well as Canada, Europe, Australia, Japan and more.
