Lomonosov Porcelain
Lomonosov was founded in 1744 by Peter the Great's daughter, Empress Elisabeth. Lomonosov is the home of Russian's finest hand crafted porcelain products. Throughout the years the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory has gone through many names such as: Imperial Porcelain Factory, Leningrad Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, then in 2005 back to Imperial Porcelain Factory, although people today still call it the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory.
Lomonosov's best known pattern is the Cobalt Net, which first appeared in 1949 based on the set that Catherine the Great made. This handpainted
pattern has a combination of intersecting lines of cobalt blue with inverted tear drops of cobalt blue and 22 karat gold accents.
