Spode

Spode was founded in 1770 in Stoke-on-Trent, England by Josiah Spode.

In 1767, Josiah opened his first factory in Stoke-On-Trent and in 1776 it became now what is called the Spode factory.

In 1784, Josiah became known for perfecting the blue underglaze printing process and co-developing the formula for fine bone china.
