Wild Republic Lark Bunting Audubon Bird with Real Calls Great news for all bird enthusiasts! Wild Republic has entered into a partnership with the National Audubon Society to create a line of realistic looking plush beanbag state birds. This partnership also includes The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, who has provided the authentic sounds for each bird to further add to the realism of these plush toys.
This Lark Bunting's call was recorded June 13, 1990 in Cherry, Nebraska, USA, and was a male song to attract a mate.
The Lark Bunting is the state bird of Colorado. These prairie birds, which are on the Audobon WatchList, are found in open meadows and fields, often in large flocks during the winter. They nest and feed at ground level, where they can search for insects and seeds. During summer males are bold black with white wing patches. When flying flocks may rotate in a circular pattern.
