A new addition to the Bunnykins family from Royal Doulton, and part of the Camelot Collection, is Sir Gawain. One very cold night whilst Arthur and The Knights were meeting at The Round Table, a Knight rode into the Hall of Camelot. To everyone's surprise, this Knight was completely green. The Green Knight set them a challenge. One man was to strike off his head with an axe he was holding with one blow. This was on the condition that The Green Knight would do the same to him in a year and a day. Only one young warrior stepped forward, and that was Gawain. Taking a swing he made a clean curt through The Green Knight's neck. A year and a day later Gawain was set several challenges by The Green Knight, completing the challenges saved Gawain from losing his own head.

Royal Doulton depicts the story of Sir Gawain and The Green Knight in a charming display of pride and gallantry. Gawain is dressed in finery suited for a Knight; colors of yellow, orange and red with a burgundy cape around his shoulders. He holds in his left hand the axe which cut the head of The Green Knight. He kneels on one knee while propped on his other is the head of his challenger. Beautifully detailed and executed, Sir Gawain is will surely inspire the telling of King Arthur and The Round Table.
