Curiosity can get a little bear into a lot of trouble, as four-inch Cobby discovers when he falls overboard on a boat trip around the bay. Perhaps you know somebody who can help Cobby. He is soft as can be and has a tan colored coat. He looks rather cute in his dungarees! To be sure, Cobby is the quintessential teddy bear.

Rikey Austin's great love is painting bears and making up bear stories. This great passion started from humble beginnings with sketches for her friends and stories for her children. Following a moderate success with a short run publication of a children's book, Rikey had a dream that was going to change her life. Many of the stories Rikey had told to her children when they were young suddenly found a home, a beginning, in the creation of Alice, a little girl who helped her Mum in a teddy bear repair shop. Alice finds many bears in many situations, and her life revolves around their adventures and the inevitable repairs that follow. Along with these delightful stories Rikey painted the bears whose lives had become entwined with Alice's shop.
