Spode's Camilla pattern, designed in 1833, was originally made in blue and white and then later introduced in the classic Spode cranberry color. The central illustration is of a tea plant, Camellia sinensis, from which the pattern derived its lovely name. The border is inspired by designs from the Renaissance with sprays of flowers.

Camilla Pink was created using Josiah Spode's under-glaze printing technique, perfected in 1784. The unmatched artistry of the Camilla Pink pattern still uses highly skilled hand engraving of copper plates to create the remarkable sense of space, depth, and atmosphere. Spode under-glaze printed earthenware, now called Imperialware, is among the most collectible pottery in the world.
