About the Hamadryas Baboon
The Hamadryas baboon has a fluffy coat except on its bare face and rump. An adult is about 30 inches in length and weighs 21 to 37 pounds. Their main diet consists of grass seeds, roots, and bulbs. Hamadryas baboons can be found in the desert and subdesert areas of Ethiopia, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Yemen. These social animals live in family groups that join together to form bigger groups called clans, and grooming each other is the most important social activity.
