About the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo
Sulphur-crested cockatoos are found in large groups throughout much of eastern Australia. Their bright yellow crests can be raised for display or if they are afraid or curious. Cockatoos feed on seed, grains, and a variety of other foods during the early morning hours. During the hottest part of the day, they are often seen resting in trees. Eucalyptus trees are one of their favorite nesting sites.
