About the Cotton-Top Tamarin
These tiny primates weigh less than a pound and are found at the northern edge of South America. They live in small groups in forest areas, feeding on fruit, seeds, insects, birds, and small animals. When threatened, they raise their long white crests as a warning. Cotton-top tamarins are endangered, because thousands were sold as pets or used for research.
