According to Steiff historical documents, Otto Steiff put together a sample collection of four colored bears in 1908 to be marketed in England to Harrod's and other prestigious department stores and toy stores. However, the four jeweltoned teddy bears in green, yellow, pink, and black ended up never being marketed, and the originals remain missing to this day.
The second in the series of the missing jeweltoned bears from 1908, this worldwide limited edition yellow mohair 1908 replica teddy bear is 14 inches tall, five-way jointed, and has excelsior stuffing (fine wood shavings), boot button eyes, a growler, and a gold-plated Button in Ear.
This Steiff animal is hand made in Germany and carries the signature "Button in Ear" trademark and chest tag. Small parts; not suitable for children under 3.
