About the Chinstrap Penguin
The chinstrap penguin is the second most abundant Antarctic penguin, outnumbered only by the macaroni penguin. Chinstraps can be identified by the narrow band of feathers extending ear-to-ear just below their chin. Their diet consists of krill, small fish, and marine crustaceans. On land, they "toboggan" on their bellies and can jump far. Females build nests in the same place every year, and keep their same mates from one year to the next.
