MEET DADA™. His name, pronounced DAH-da, means "elder one" in Africa. It is hard to decide which is longer -- his life or his beard! The years have made this old monkey very wise. If you sit beside him and listen patiently, he may teach you some of the wonderful things he has learned throughout his long life. He seems to know all. As they say in Zaire, "You do not teach the paths of the forest to an old monkey."

Dada is a De Brazza's monkey. These monkeys are multicolored, with a distinctive white beard, black body, brown back, white thigh stripes, and bright orange forehead.

De Brazza’s monkeys eat fruit, seeds, leaves, flowers, and even mushrooms. They live in the swamps and forests of Cameroon, Uganda, Angola, Kenya, Ethiopia, and Sudan.
