Breyer Black Jack--U.S. Caparisoned Military Horse *NEW*
New for the Breyer Gallery and available October 2003! A stunning, jet black, Morgan-Quarter Horse cross, Black Jack served as the caparisoned horse in more than 1,000 full honors military funerals at Arlington National Cemetery, including those of Presidents John F. Kennedy, Herbert Hoover, and Lyndon B. Johnson. Breyer's elegant and richly detailed resin captures the spirit of the famous horse as he was traditionally saddled for funeral: with an empty saddle in which a pair of spurred boots face backward in the stirrups, a poignant reminder of the leader who has fallen.
Breyer's tribute to Black Jack is presented on a handsome wooden base with a brass name plaque. The elegant gift package includes 'Black Jack: America's Famous Riderless Horse,' by Robert Knuckle, a beautiful softbound book that showcases the history and pageantry of the U.S. Caisson platoon.
