The borosilicate glass is a material that is very resistant to thermal shocks and dishwasher safe. The vacuum area created between the walls allows the liquid thermal insulation and avoids the condensation inside and outside the glass.
This permits a higher warm maintenance of the liquid compared to normal glass, porcelain and ceramics. The same happens for cold liquids that maintain the desired tasting temperature without creating condensation on the outer wall of the glass so to avoid the usual "sweating effect" on the outer surfaces of the glass.
